Let’s talk about something that really fires me up—greenwashing. You know, those brands that slap a leaf or the word “natural” on their packaging and expect us to believe they care about our health, our planet, or our families—when in reality, they’re still packing their products with harmful chemicals and shady practices?
Yeah. That.
I used to fall for it, too. Bright, earthy labels. Words like “pure,” “clean,” “eco-friendly.” I wanted so badly to trust that companies were finally making better choices. But what I’ve realized—and what you may have felt deep down—is that most of it is just a marketing illusion. A manipulative mask to keep us feeling safe while they keep profiting off our confusion.
And let’s be real—the emotional toll is heavy.
Greenwashing isn't just deceptive. It's emotionally abusive.
It messes with our trust. It triggers guilt. It leaves us feeling defeated, overwhelmed, and unsure of who or what to believe. That’s not a minor inconvenience—that’s psychological whiplash.
Especially for those of us who are trying so hard to make better choices—mamas balancing work, parenting and schooling and those healing from trauma and doing all the emotional labor. We don’t need one more lie to untangle. We don’t need to feel like we’re the ones falling short because the system is built to confuse and exploit us.
Greenwashing feeds the same thought traps we’ve been trying to break free from:
- “You’re not doing enough.”
- “It’s your fault you didn’t know.”
- “Just try harder.”
No. The problem isn’t you—it’s the system manipulating your heart and good intentions.
This is about more than clean products. It’s about reclaiming your power.
When we see through the manipulation, we stop letting it steal our peace and self-worth. When we learn what’s really in our products—and how those ingredients affect our emotional and mental health—we get to make truly empowered choices.
That’s why I talk so much about emotional intelligence and healing, even in conversations about labels and products. Because everything is connected. Your peace matters. Your body, your mind, and your truth matter.
